The Second Annual Missouri Historic Preservation Symposium explores “Historic Preservation as a Tool for Economic Development.” Co-hosted by the Missouri State Historic Preservation Office, the Jefferson City Historic Preservation Commission, and the Missouri Preservation Alliance, the symposium will take place in Jefferson City on Thursday, May 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Keynote Speaker, Steven Stogel, will discuss “Funding Your Historic Preservation Project.” Stogel is a real estate developer in St. Louis; along with partner Mark Schnuck, he led the redevelopment of the Old Post Office in St. Louis in 2006, saving it from the wrecking ball. The symposium will take place in the Lewis & Clark State Office Building, 1101 Riverside Drive, Jefferson City, in the Nightingale and LaCharrette conference rooms. Space is limited and registration is required. The registration fee includes a catered lunch. Registration will open on March 15 and will stay open until April 15. AIA Continuing Education credits will be available for a small fee, payable on-site, through Missouri Preservation.
