First Day Hike - First Missouri State Capitol - First Day Hike 2026

Join the First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site for a First Day Hike! The hike will go for about 2 miles along the Katy Trail, on Main Street in St. Charles, and through the First Capitol. During the tour, participants will learn about the Corps of Discovery Expedition, St. Charles History, and the story of the First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site. The second floor of the building is only accessible via exterior stairs. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Refreshments available after the tour. Restrooms will be available at the Lewis and Clark Boat House and Museum. Meet at the Veteran's Memorial near the Lewis and Clark Boat House and Museum.

Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.
