Kick off the new year by joining us for a First Day Hike hike on the Rock Island Trail at the newly opened section in Owensville. The flat, packed gravel trail provides for an easy hike through Owensville to the high school and back. Be sure to wear closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather. Bringing water bottles, snacks and hiking sticks is also encouraged. This program is free, open to the public, and suitable for all ages. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash. Registration is required and everyone is welcome. If the hike is canceled, an announcement will be emailed to registrants and posted on the Park and Site Status Map. First Day Hikes are promoted by America's State Parks and are held at parks across the country at the start of each year. For more information about this hike, please call 573-751-8459.
