This beginner-friendly program is designed for nature lovers, hikers, and curious explorers who want to better understand the trees around them—even without leaves. We’ll cover basic tree anatomy and share practical tips for identifying Missouri trees in winter using bark, buds, and overall shape. Afterward, we’ll put our new skills to use on an easy 1-mile hike. No experience required—just bring your curiosity and enjoy the woods. Saturday, February 21 | 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Meet in front of the Visitor Center. This is an outdoor program—dress for winter weather, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and feel free to bring a hot beverage to enjoy along the way
