The First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site is located within a stone’s throw of the Missouri River and Katy Trail State Park, and in the heart of historic St. Charles. Online tour times are available for booking at 1pm and 2pm. More tour times and larger group options are available in addition to those offered online. Please call the site at 636-940-3322 for more information. Tours take approximately 45 minutes. Tours take place on the hour starting at 10am Monday through Saturday and 12pm on Sunday, with the final tour departing at 3pm. 12pm tours will not be offered to allow staff to take a lunch break.
Tours begin in our Interpretive Center. Tour admission fees vary depending on age, from free to $5.00. It is recommended that visitors dress comfortably for the outside temperature, as the Capitol building does not have A/C and has minimal heating. The Capitol building is not ADA accessible and has several flights of stairs. Virtual tours and other accommodations are available depending on staffing.
