Our world is full of fascinating bugs! Join the park naturalists on Thursday, October 24th to get an up close look at some of our tiny friends that have 6, 8, or more legs! Sign-in starts at 9:45AM with the program starting at 10AM at the campground amphitheater. We will talk about the diverse world of insects, spiders, and other arthropods, then take to the trail to see if we can get a Bug BINGO! Families with younger children (ages 5-8) will have a 0.25 mile hike, while older students (ages 9-14) can expect to hike about 2 miles on a portion of the Swimming Deer Trail. A guardian must stay with their children, especially on the trail. Strollers will not be allowed on the trail. The program for younger students with the 0.25 hike should last about 45 minutes. The program for older students with the 2 mile hike should last about 75 minutes. At least one parent/guardian must be present. Please register just the children planning to attend. For questions or problems with registration, please call the park office at 573-358-2173 or email the park naturalist at Mary.Crowell@dnr.mo.gov
