Battle of Lexington Tour

Tour admission fees vary depending on age, from free to $5.00. The Battle of Lexington Currently offers two tours; the Anderson House Tour and the Battlefield Tour. Both of the tours last between 45 minutes to an hour. For group tours, contact Battle of Lexington at 660-259-4654


Deutschheim Historic Tours

Tour admission fees vary depending on age, from free to $5.00. Tour includes indoor and outdoor steps, uneven surfaces and standing for periods of time. Limited bench seating is available along the tour. Most of the tour is indoors, but we do walk half a block between the two buildings and spend time in the garden, so dress appropriately for the outdoors, in layers. Through guided tours of two historic houses, visitors experience the daily life and traditions of German immigrants to Missouri as it was in the mid-19th century. In 1836, the German Settlement Society of Philadelphia was formed to create Deutschheim (German Home), a place where German immigrants could live much as they had in the old country with the freedom to practice their own German traditions and language.


Dillard Mill Tours

Tour admission fees vary depending on age, from free to $5.00. Tour one of Missouri's best-preserved examples of a water-powered gristmill. Please be sure to bring a jacket during cooler weather, as the mill is not heated. Guided tours of the Adams-Wilhite Store are not offered, but the building is open for visitors to explore on their own.


Felix Valle House Historic Tour

Tour admission fees vary depending on age, from free to $6.00. The Vallé House is not ADA accessible. The tour will involve multiple stairs and the building has no climate control. Please dress accordingly. The American-Federal style Vallé house was built in 1818 and today is furnished in the style of the 1830s with a host of artifacts that show the American influence on the French community of Ste. Genevieve after the Louisiana Purchase.


First Missouri State Capitol Tours St. Charles, MO

Tour admission fees vary depending on age, from free to $5.00. Located within a stone’s throw of the Missouri River and Katy Trail State Park, and in the heart of historic St. Charles. To take a tour, stop in our Interpretive Center. Tours take place on the hour starting at 10am Monday through Saturday and 12pm on Sunday, with the final tour departing at 3pm. Tours last about 45 minutes to an hour. 12pm tours will not be offered to allow staff to take a lunch break. It is recommended that visitors dress comfortably for the outside temperature, as the Capitol building does not have A/C and has minimal heating. The Capitol building is not ADA accessible and has several flights of stairs. Please contact the site with any accessibility questions or concerns.”


Hunter Dawson Guided Tour

Tour admission fees vary depending on age, from free to $5.00. Step back in time and learn what life was like for one wealthy family in southeast Missouri. Tour the Hunter-Dawson home, a 15-room antebellum mansion completed in 1860. Containing much of the family's original furniture, the mansion illustrates the grand lifestyle once enjoyed by one of southeast Missouri's families. Guided tours lasting approximately one hour are offered. For those who are unable to climb stairs, a book with photographs is available for viewing.


Missouri Mines Guided Tour

Tour admission fees vary depending on age, from free to $4.00. The Missouri Mines museum galleries can be examined at your own pace (exhibits are labeled) or you may choose to have a interpreter provide more detailed and personalized interpretation. Tours are given on demand for individuals and families – schools and other large groups should schedule their visit in advance. Most formal tours relate to the site's mining history theme. Interpretation is customized to address your specific interests. Topics may include: when the mining occurred, how it was done, the equipment used, the men who did it, historic and economic significance, or life in the mining community. Formal tours are not normally conducted in the mineral gallery, but interpreters are available to answer questions and can direct you to specific exhibits relating to earth science, geology


Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead Tours-Guided

Scott Joplin House Historic Tours

Tour admission fees vary depending on age, from free to $6.00.Tour the home of the King of Ragtime. Contact the historic site about interpretive programs and events.


Thomas Hart Benton Home Tours

Tour admission fees vary depending on age, from free to $5.00. Knowledgeable interpreters conduct guided tours of the Thomas Hart Benton Home and Studio State Historic Site. Each tour takes approximately 45 minutes and includes the first and second floor of Benton's home and the interior of his studio. There are stairs to access the second floor of the house. For those unable to climb stairs, informational booklets with descriptive text and photographs are available.


Watkins Woolen Mill Historic Tour

Tour admission fees vary depending on age, from free to $5.00. Tours of the woolen mill and Watkins family home offer a unique glimpse into both industrial and domestic life in the 1870s. The woolen mill is the only 19th century textile mill in North America with its original machinery still intact, making it a National Historic Landmark and a National Mechanical Engineering Landmark. Tours of the mill include the engine shed, where the original steam engine is located, the first three floors of woolen mill machinery, the gristmill and the mill store. The Watkins family home was completed in 1854 and has been restored to its 1870s appearance. Tours of the home include the first two floors of the home, the dairy cellar, summer kitchen, icehouse, smokehouse, fruit dry-house, garden and poultry. Please wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather.
